This page explains how to ask us to delete information we obtained about you through Facebook, and what happens when you do. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which governs all other information we hold.

What this covers

Always & Furever operates a Facebook application, AFTimeline2 (App ID 3549130868577451), which we use to archive the public history of our own Facebook Page so we can keep a permanent record of the animals we have helped and recognize the people who follow that work.

What we receive and store

• Your Facebook numeric user ID
• The public display name shown on your Facebook profile
• The text, date, and time of comments you left on posts published by our Facebook Page
• Which of our posts each comment was left on

What we do not receive

Facebook does not give us your email address, phone number, birthday, friend list, private messages, or the identity of anyone who reacted to or shared a post. We cannot see anything you posted anywhere other than on our own Page.

How to request deletion

1. Email info@alwaysandfurever.org with the subject line Facebook Data Deletion Request.
2. Tell us the name that appears on your Facebook profile, and include a link to one of your comments on our Page, or the approximate date of a comment you left. This is how we locate your records.
3. We will reply with a confirmation reference so you can follow up, and we may ask one question to confirm the request came from you before we delete anything. We do this so that nobody can erase someone else's records.
4. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and email you when it is done.

Email is the only channel we monitor for deletion requests. There is no charge for making one.

What deletion actually does

When we complete your request, we:

• Permanently delete your Facebook user ID, display name, and the stored copies of your comments from our archive and from any reports built from it;
• Remove you from any commenter or supporter lists generated from that archive; and
• Record your Facebook user ID on an internal suppression list, so that when our archive next synchronizes with Facebook your information is not collected again. That list stores only the identifier needed to keep honoring your request.

Removing our app's access yourself

You can revoke an application's access to your Facebook information at any time, without contacting us:

• On Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites.
• Select the application, then choose Remove.
• Facebook offers you the option to delete the posts, videos, and events that application published on your behalf.

Revoking access stops future data sharing. To also delete what we have already stored, send us the request described above.

Information we may keep

If you are also a donor, adopter, foster, volunteer, employee, or event participant, we hold records about that relationship which did not come from Facebook. Those records are governed by our Privacy Policy, and we may need to retain some of them for animal-care, financial, tax, safety, or legal reasons even after we delete your Facebook data. Deleting your Facebook data does not cancel a donation receipt, an adoption record, or an animal's medical history.

We will always tell you specifically what we deleted and what we retained, and why.

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information without the permission of a parent or legal guardian, please contact us and we will review it and delete it where appropriate.
