We refuse to put an animal down if they require extensive healing before they can become adoptable. Every pet we bring in becomes part of our animal shelter & rescue center in Kansas City or Wichita until they join a new family. No matter how long it takes.
Gradual Rehabilitation
No matter the cost of medical bills or the time it takes for an animal to trust humans again, we’re willing to go the distance. We never put an animal up for adoption unless they are 100% ready for it.
Selective Adoption
Our extensive background check process ensures that our rescued animals get the care they need with their new best friend. This includes multiple pre-adoption meet-and-greets to confirm the match is perfect.

Before You Surrender
We understand that surrendering may seem like your only option. Tell us about your situation, and we may be able to help you keep your companion.
We have tons of volunteer opportunities at our animal shelter & rescue center in Kansas City or Wichita. Just pick a location, and you can get started helping furry friends in need.
When it comes to rescues, we need volunteers to help us with freedom rides. If you have a car and are willing to donate your time and gas money, we may send you out to pick up pets who need help. Your destination could be anywhere from a few miles away to all the way across the country and back.
We also need help getting these animals to their necessary vet appointments. Many of these dogs and cats have received injuries or trauma that require immediate care, so transporting pets to and from clinics is essential to getting them happy and healthy again.
Before we can send any of our animals to their new homes, we need to make sure they’re in a good state to do so. This involves getting them the immediate medical care they need and building preliminary trust between them and humans.
Once rehabilitation is complete, our animal shelter & rescue center in Kansas City or Wichita opens adoption applications, so you can start looking for your new best friend!. Keep in mind that, while eligible for adoption, there may still be some chronic conditions or behavioral concerns that we’ll need to disclose and prepare you for.
Many of our available animals are great with children, but some may not be. We can determine which pets are best for you through a series of meet-and-greets.
