Our mission is to wake up in a world where every soul is treated with kindness dignity respect, and most importantly their life has been touched by love, even if only for a moment!
Dr. Erika Stafford is a Topeka, KS native who has wanted to be a veterinarian since she could talk. During high school she volunteered at Helping Hands Humane Society as soon as she was able to drive herself there, and that’s where the love of rescue began. Dr. Stafford attended Kansas State University for her undergraduate in Animal Science and Industry with an Equine Science Certificate while being a part of the Early Admission Program to their College of Veterinary Medicine. She continued her time at K-State for vet school where she also acted as Cat Coordinator for Riley County Humane Society. After graduating in 2021, she started an equine internship before returning home to Kansas to work at Heritage Animal Hospital doing general practice work with dogs, cats, and horses. There, she was able to continue working with several animal rescues and continue her passion of helping them. In her free time, Dr. Stafford enjoys reading, riding and competing her horses, and hanging out with the rest of her “zoo” that includes, dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, and several species of reptiles and amphibians!
