If possible, we may be able to send one of our volunteers to transport your companion. In the event that we cannot connect them with proper medical attention, we may be able to provide you with other resources in your area.

Where to Go if an Animal Needs Help
If your pet or a rescue animal you’ve found requires medical attention, our team can direct you to the nearest emergency veterinarian. We can also check in afterward to ensure they get any additional care if they need it.
Common Emergency Signs
Severe Vomiting or Diarrhea
If the animal in question frequently vomits and cannot keep food down, you should visit an emergency vet as soon as possible.
Difficulty Breathing
While some dogs and cats have naturally rattling or wheezing lungs, you should still keep an eye out for labored breathing.
Injuries
A vet should examine any wounds an animal receives to avoid infection. Deep cuts, slashes, and other bleeding wounds need immediate attention.

Help Us Save Lives
Once a rescue animal’s immediate medical needs are satisfied, we bring them to one of our shelters at Always & Furever or a foster home. Here, they can recover in the company of our staff and ever-faithful volunteers. Once they’re healed, physically and emotionally, we’ll get them ready for adoption by the perfect family.
While life is full of uncertainties, you can take steps to avoid emergency visits, like monitoring your pet’s diet. In addition to food intake, bowel movements are often a great indicator of an animal’s health. You should also keep toxic or otherwise dangerous items out of your pet’s reach.
