The focus on senior dogs was what initially drew me to A&F. Helping the many abandoned because of age and age-related illness to feel comfort and love in their later years was a mission I instantly wanted to direct my efforts to. I started as a volunteer along with my 90-year-old father, then began scheduling the medical visits and transporting the dogs, with my father’s assistance on many a vet run. Coming from a finance background and years of non-profit experience, I have settled into the role of finance coordinator where my focus is on record keeping and all things numbers related. Keeping up with the average monthly $50,000 in vet bills is at the top of my functions! I am so honored to use my skills to support a mission I am so passionate about. The seniors, the sick, the unwanted, they all matter at A&F. Being a part of this rescue from the beginning, I have had the joy of watching our number of lives saved explode! My husband Todd and I have fostered, and foster-failed, adding alumni Bart and Matty to our own family of rescues!
